Oooohhh We Have Updates!
Hello everyone!
It's been quite a while since we have had an update. In all honesty, I'm not the best at the blog posts, but I am working on getting better at it this year. A lot has happened since the last time I posted on the blog, so without further ado, here we go!
First, this past holiday season, I was a part of the East Haddam Stage Company's immersive production of A Christmas Carol! I was double cast as the roles Belle and Alice Hartwell. It was such a fun production, not only because A Christmas Carol means so much to me and my family, but also because we performed at the STUNNING Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown, CT. It was honestly such a magical experience and I wish it wasn't just seasonal. Unfortunately, the surge of the Omicron variant shut down our last show, but I still had an incredible time!
Next, the time we have been waiting for since February of 2021 finally came... Ms/Manage was released on BlackOak TV!!! New episodes came out every Friday starting on January 28th. All of the episodes are officially out and available to stream on BlackOak TV. It was such a surreal experience getting to share this show with my family and friends after all of the festivals and lead up to the release. And the good news doesn't stop there! Ms/Manage is an official selecition for the Pan African Film Festival in LA!
Finally, I just finished another podcast with one of my favorite companies, The Garden of Voices. This round, our show was The Abbey of the Holy Lonesome written by Andra Hunter. This was my third time working with The Garden and this round was the most fun I've had yet. The play itself was *chef's kiss* INCREDIBLE, and cast and crew clicked so well that we would cry of laughter every rehearsal and never want to get off Zoom. I am really proud of this episode and I hope you listen to it. The episode is available wherever you listen to podcasts.
Well, that's all the project updates! It's been a very rewarding past few months and I can't wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for me. I am starting my agent search and really trying to get my face out there with as many auditions as I can. I am also making learning a priority again. As an actor, it's easy to get so caught up in the auditions and projects that we forget to make the time to continue learning our craft, so we have to work to keep that from happening. I also have some at home projects that I hope will come to pass this year. With that, thanks fr sticking around for this longer post! I will keep you all posted on anything exciting (if I remember)!!!
Thanks for being here!
~ Kelsey
